OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2008. In January-March, 2008, cargo handling of Archangelsk Sea Commercial Port  grew by 25.5%, year-on-year, to 361,876 tonnes, the company reports. In the reported period, transshipment of export cargo increased by 2.2 times to 208,499 tonnes, while transshipment of import cargo fell by 24.2%, year-on-year, to 46,923 tonnes, coastal trade cargo – fell by 11.3% to 97,658 tonnes. Turnover of local cargo amounted to 8,796 tonnes (down 2.4 times against January-March 2007).

Archangelsk Sea Commercial Port is a multi-profile stevedoring company operating at the port of Archangelsk. It is specialized in transshipment of general cargo, cellulose, cardboard, containers, timber, metal, fertilizers, heavy equipment and dry bulk cargo. ASCP’s facilities enable it to handle 4.5 million tonnes of cargo per year. Archangelsk accepts vessels with a draft of up to 9.5 meters, length of up to 175-200 meters, breadth of up to 30 meters.
