OREANDA-NEWS. On May 13, 2008 the Russian Centre for Testing and Certification Moscow has given the top quality certificate to products of Belarusian wallpaper maker Gomeloboi, representatives of the company’s marketing department told.

Several months of test audits have verified that Gomeloboi wallpapers, which are sold in Russia, are complaint with established sanitary and hygienic standards as well as physical and mechanical norms and have the necessary consumer qualities. The compliance has granted a special quality certificate to OAO Gomeloboi. The company has been entered into a corresponding register.

OAO Gomeloboi is the second Belarusian company after Brestgazoapparat to receive this quality certificate. The certificate allows participating in tenders for purchasing construction materials used to build welfare housing as well as other government-funded programmes. Specialists believe the certificate will enable the company to boost export to Russia. At present the company exports 60% of the make to Russia. In January-April Gomeloboi shipped \\$10,3 million worth of products to Russian regions.

The company was founded in 1927. At present OAO Gomeloboi is a major Belarusian producer of wallpaper and decorative paper for furniture industry. The company uses contemporary intaglio printing machines made by leading German, French and Italian companies. The company turns out over 30 million wallpaper rolls every year. The products are shipped to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Poland and several other countries.
