OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 May 2008 was announced, that Vladivostok Avia, one of the leading air carriers of Russia’s Far East launched a scheduled service linking Vnukovo International with Frankfurt-Hahn, Germany. The [same-day return] flights will be operated on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with the A-320 twinjets as standard equipment. The flights will be departing Vnukovo at 12:20 local time, arriving in Frankfurt -Hahn at 13:50 local time, with the return services leaving Frankfurt -Hahn at 15:10 to arrive in Moscow at 20:10 local time.

Frankfurt-Hahn as a scheduled destination is a first for both Vladivostok Avia and Vnukovo International. Mr. Martin Anders Kert, a businessman from Germany and the first passenger to have checked in for the flight, received commemorative souvenirs. A media conference was held at the Airport shortly prior to the inaugural flight’s departure for Frankfurt-Hahn. Representatives of the Government of Moscow, those of the Embassy of Germany in Russia, as well as the top management of Vnukovo International and Vladivostok Avia were in attendance[ at the event].
