OREANDA-NEWS. July 25, 2008. In January-June, 2008, Commercial Seaport of Izmail, one of the largest ports at Danube (Ukraine, Odessa region) increased its throughput by 3.5%, year-on-year, to 3.9 million tonnes, the port’s administration informs. In the reported period, transshipment of transit cargo grew by 2.3%, year-on-year, to 1.3 million tonnes.

The growth should be attributed to increased transshipment of dry bulk: coal – by 0.8%, fertilizers – by 1%, transit rolled metal – by 60.7%, cast iron – by 8.8%.

In 2007, the port handled 6.9 million tonnes of cargo (+0.6%, year-on-year). The company’s net profit grew by 11.7% to UAH 3.23 million.
