OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 August 2008 was announced, that 73 schools and kindergartens are to be revamped in southeast Moscow by September 1, the start of the new school year.

According to Vladimir Zotov, prefect of the southeastern administrative district of Moscow, the city authorities have allocated 100 million roubles (USD 4.2 million) to have the schools and kindergartens prepared for the new school year. He said that 26 educational facilities had been revamped and the overhaul of another 47 ones was to be completed in the August.

Mr Zotov reminded that 5 kindergartens were to be built in southeast Moscow in 2008. 3 ones have been already completed. The official informed that 7 kindergartens more were to be erected in the district in 2009.

The prefect of the district said that construction documents for building 3 sports and fitness centres in southeast Moscow were being elaborated at that time. “Two among them are to be built on Ryazansky Avenue and one more is to go up on Belorechenskaya Street,” Mr Zotov noted.

The official added that 7.5 million roubles (USD 312,500) were to be allocated in 2008 to revamp the music and art schools in the district. “Six schools of such a kind, where more than 3,000 children learn, are to be overhauled by the end of 2008,” Mr Zotov.
