OREANDA-NEWS. October 7, 2008. In Jan- Sept, 2008, Murmansk Commercial Seaport handled 10.334.5 tonnes of different cargoes (-2.1%, year-on-year), the company informs. In the reported period, the company handled 390 vessels and 153 169 wagons.

In September, the port handled 1.042.402 tonnes of different cargoes (-17%, year-on-year). The port handled 17,024 wagons including 12,766 wagons with coal and 43 vessels.

Transshipment of export cargo down by 17.5%, year-on-year, to 987.428 tonnes including 780.000 tons of coal, 128,200 tonnes of apatite, 20,400 tonnes of non-ferrous metal. Total transshipment of general cargo amounted to 78,300 tonnes, which makes 1.4% against the result of the same period in 2007, dry bulk - 964.100 tonnes (-17.9%, year-on-year).
