OREANDA-NEWS  On 17 October was announced, that in response to the market instability geared by the financial crisis METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine permanently decreases its prices on over 1 000 articles of core importance to its professional customers: HoReCa, traders and other institutional customers. Almost 650 articles of own brand Aro will go down in price by 10%.

“Reducing the price on over 1 000 articles, which our customers need for their daily business we want to help them to maintain their operations, which are under pressure due to the instability of financial markets and the and an accelerated declining trend of consumer confidence. We are currently in negotiations with all our suppliers to ensure we offer the products on the lowest possible level permanently. We trust this will help to stabilize the market and bring back the consumer confidence”, − said Axel Hluchy, Managing Director of METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine.

To inform the customers about the permanently discounted articles METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine distributed over 600 000 brochures. The information is also available on the www.metro.ua. The discounted goods include top demanded articles in food and consumables in nonfood such as batteries, blank CDs, cartridges, envelopes, energy saving bulbs et cetera.

Along with the permanent offer of stable low prices METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine will continue to offer its customers biweekly promotions via METRO Post, the catalogue of hot offers.

Additionally the market-entry brand Aro products covering over 650 articles are sold with a 10% discount. Aro is an own brand of METRO Cash & Carry meant specifically for traders as it offers products at a significantly lower price than alternative brands.

Within 5 years of operations in Ukraine METRO Cash & Carry opened 20 wholesale stores: three in Kyiv, two in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa, one in Kharkiv, Lviv, Luhansk, Kryvyi Rih, Poltava, Vinnytsa, Zaporizhya, Chernivtsi, Mykolaiv, Rivne and Ivano-Frankivsk.
