OREANDA-NEWS. Regional Offices of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) were formed 17 years ago, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 17th October 1991, the State Committee of RSFSR on Antimonopoly Policy and Support to new Economic Structures (GKAP Russia) issued No.62 Order "On Organizing and Formation of the Regional Offices of the State Committee of RSFSR on Antimonopoly Policy and Support to new Economic Structures". It started formation and organization of the regional bodies of the antimonopoly authority in all provinces, currently - Offices of the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

Igor Artemyev, the Head of FAS Russia stated: "Painstaking work of the antimonopoly bodies towards creating favorable conditions for developing competition in Russia is paying off. Now we have a coherent mechanism, which to a great extent affects the processes in Russia".

"Regional offices make invaluable contribution to the overall work of the Antimonopoly Service, preparing and formulating legislative initiatives and resolving important issues that are not only significant for the national economy but also are of great concern for the population", emphasized the Head of FAS Russia.
