OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2008. The world economic crisis and its negative influence on the Ukrainian economy calls for serious reconsidering of forecasted macroeconomic indices and draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2009.

Minister of Finance Viktor Pinzenyk announced following the meeting into the issues of overcoming of consequences of the financial crisis, which was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko with participation of leading financiers and economists of Ukraine.

“The draft State Budget 2009 calls for serious and radical reconsidering,” Viktor Pinzenyk stressed. According to the Minister, the story goes with non-deficit character of the State Budget for the following year and more “modest” estimated showings of the GDP amounts.

On commenting possible amendments to the State Budget for 2008 Viktor Pinzenyk explained that its deficit will also be significantly shortened. However to make this year’s budget a non-deficit one is especially hard through unplanned allocation of funds for overcoming consequences of floods in the Western Ukraine.

The Finance Minister underlined that reconsidering of budgets for the current and the following years is tied to the need “to live within the means” under conditions of the world financial crunch.
