October 30, 2008.  State Corporation ’Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ and OJSC United Shipbuilding Corporation entered into a Memorandum on Cooperation in order to promote relations in joint implementation of investment projects in the shipbuilding industry.

The Agreement was signed by Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev and United Shipbuilding Corporation President Vladimir Pakhomov.

The Memorandum aims to promote all-round cooperation in carrying out investment projects to retool, modernize and create new shipbuilding and auxiliary production facilities, purchase advanced core assets and technologies as well as use leasing for building and selling shipbuilding products.

Under the Memorandum on Vneshecononbank’s Financial Policies shipbuilding development is an industrial priority of the State Corporation’s investment activity.

The joint implementation of investment projects within the framework of the Memorandum signed with OJSC United Shipbuilding Corporation which is to incorporate 40 enterprises of the Russian shipbuilding complex would help to boost the development of the domestic shipbuilding, make it more competitive and manufacture advanced high-technology products, upgrade water transport, develop world ocean resources and increase Russia’s defensive capabilities.
