OREANDA-NEWS. November 1, 2008. Earlier, Rostekhnadzor has already decided to set up complex working groups for supervision of construction projects in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Today, the head of Rostekhandzor (Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision) Nikolay Kutyin approved methodological instructions for organizing and exercising control of the compliance of organizations acting in the fields of peaceful use of nuclear energy and constructions of nuclear power facilities with the federal rules and standards and the terms of licenses. The instructions are meant for nuclear and radiation safety inspectors.

The document says that nuclear and radiation safety inspectors should detect deviations from the federal rules and standards committed by organizations acting in the fields of peaceful use of nuclear energy and construction of nuclear power facilities and should analyze them together with experts. The organizations should provide the inspectors with analyses of the possible effects of such deviations on safety and reports on their actions to prevent such deviations.

On the basis of the information received from the organizations the inspectors should find out what causes such deviations and to see if the measures undertaken by the organizations to prevent the deviations are effective.

All information received from the organizations should be systematized and all detected deviations should be classified.
