OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2008. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Head of the Hospitalia International Representative Office Mr. Karl Vaillant and Siemens Regional Director Abidin Gulam Zainul.

Greeting the Turkmen leader the guests thanked for the opportunity of a personal meeting and congratulated on the success of the International Exhibition and Conference Achievements of Healthcare of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat. The businessmen noted that the forum was of intense interest to the German companies which had been widely represented at the Ashgabat exhibition. Taking an opportunity the top managers of the well-known German companies noted that the Turkmen leader’s official visit was looked forward to in Germany.

The guests said that Germany highly appreciated the relations of friendship and co-operation between two countries which exemplified effective collaboration. The German businessmen emphasized that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov – the initiator of the large-scale joint projects in priority fields of co-operation had profoundly contributed to enhancement of bilateral contacts. The businessmen noted that the Turkmen always relied on the high quality, advanced technologies and state-of-the-art equipment – the pride of the German companies.

Greeting and thanking the guests for the heartfelt wishes Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highly appreciated the contribution that Turkmenistan’s long-term partners – Siemens and Hospitalia International had made to development of the national healthcare system and emphasized that this co-operation had entered the strategic level. The clinics and diagnostic centres providing a broad range of high-quality medical services to the people of Turkmenistan had been equipped with the active assistance of the German companies. The President said that declaring the health of people to be the highest value of the state Turkmenistan intended to steadily intensify this successful collaboration. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the new medical centres would be put into operation in Ashgabat in the next few months and supplied with medical equipment produced by the leading German manufacturers.

Exchanging views the President and the German businessmen discussed the major aspects of short-range co-operation. Noting that Turkmenistan attached paramount importance to development and improvement of medical services in rural areas where the diagnostic centres had been built and the maternal and child health care institutions would be put into operation within the next few months. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested that Siemens and Hospitalia International would design the projects on construction and equipment of multifield hospitals throughout the country and collaborate in training medical personnel.

The guests showed intense interest in the Turkmen leader’s proposals and thanked the Turkmen leader for the granted confidence and honour to co-operate in the grandiose development programmes. They expressed belief that co-operation would be offered a powerful incentive to develop during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Germany.
