OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2009. Uralmashplant (Uralmashplant Machine-Building Corporation) successfully passed acceptance tests of the cementing furnace sections. KHD Humboldt Wedag GmbH (Germany) provided  Uralmashplant with fundamental engineering solutions for Novotroitsk cement plant equipment and Uralmashplant construction department carried out operating engineering works.

In November 2007 the corporation negotiated a contract for furnace case manufacture. Equipment total weight is 193 tons. Shipment of equipment is scheduled for the beginning of January 2009 and Novotroitsk plant launch is set by last quarter 2009. Building constructors of the cement works are URALSTEEL JSC (incorporated in Metalloinvest holding steel division) and South Ural Mining and Processing Company Ltd (engaged in mining works with URALSTEEL). Productive capacity of the cement works is 1,3 mln t per year.

This is the first cementing furnace manufactured in Russia and engineered by a foreign company. KHD Humboldt Wedag GmbH controlled every production phase under high production requirements, namely fine tolerance for large-size equipment.

"The contract guarantees prospects for further cooperation with German company", says Sergey Chervyakov, Chief Executive of Mining Equipment division. "At present KHD is planning to construct 10 cement works in Russia. In this connection we expect not only to manufacture furnace cases for KHD, but to expand product range using engineering of the German company. With the experience gained we plan to shorten the timing of further orders".

At present Uralmash Machine-Building Corporation executes several contracts for cement works: ring gears for Sibirski Cement, two grinding mill cases for Ahangarancement works (Uzbekistan), grinding mill case for Novotroitsk cement works. At present the enterprise considers contracts with Byelorussian, Uzbek and Kazakh cement works.
