OREANDA-NEWS. March 5, 2009. During a meeting of the governmental committee on export control Vice Premier of Russia Sergey Ivanov said that nuclear energy and space were the priorities of the Russian export.

He pointed out that Russia was facing growing competition in the supplies of dual purpose products to foreign markets. In this light, the government and the business community of Russia must try to jointly search for better forms and directions of international cooperation in the field of high technologies and to enlarge the geography of trade-economic and scientific-technical ties with foreign states.

“Our key goal is not only to preserve but also to strengthen our positions in the industries where we can successfully compete with the world’s leading producers, first of all, in nuclear energy and space,” Ivanov said.

The key priorities of this work are the security of Russia, the protection of the interests of national producers, particularly, by means of reasonable state protectionism policy, and the creation of favorable political and economic conditions for promotion of our science-intensive production to foreign markets and inflow of advanced foreign technologies into Russia. The Government is going to toughen control so as to prevent illegal transfer of defense-significant production abroad.
