OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 April 2009 the Sergey Golitzine Foundation, whose founders are United Metallurgical Company and Chusovoy Metallurgical Works (CMW, Perm Territory), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), had announced the fourth bidding for social and cultural projects.

The competitive bidding is purported to develop social and cultural initiatives among the residents of Chusovoy and the Chusovoy District. Preferred projects are supposed to be such that can benefit most Chusovoy residents at minimal costs.

The grant fund for these purposes accounts for 3 million rubles. Winners will be determined in four categories: My City is Chusovoy, We Are Young, Health and Sports, and Culture and Education. In every category, the maximal grant will reach 500 thousand rubles. The projects will be implemented from May 1 through November 10, 2009.

“This year is special for us, as CMW, the mainstay of the local economy, celebrates its 130th anniversary,” said Sergey Zherebtsov, CMW Director for Personnel, Social Issues, and Public Relations. “We hope that the money of the S. M. Golitzine Foundation will be put to much good use for the benefit of the city and district residents. We wish all bidders inspiration and unquenchable energy in the implementation of their ideas.”

Eligible participants for this open bidding include educational, health, and cultural institutions; territorial self-government committees; sports, public, and other non-profit organizations other than political parties and movements, trade unions, and religious organizations; individuals who are involved in such activities as organization of children's summer vacations and public services and amenities.

The first bidding for social and cultural projects was held in 2006 on the initiative of Chusovoy Metallurgical Works. Over the past three years, 33 projects were implemented in Chusovoy and the Chusovoy District. Under the projects, up-to-date equipment was provided to kindergartens, hospitals, and schools; a new philharmonic was built, as well as sports areas, playgrounds, and a roller park; a new and only cafe for children was launched in Chusovoy; and a camping area was equipped near the Chusovaya River.
