OREANDA-NEWS. April 8, 2009. For the first time this year national energy producer of Azerbaijan Azerenerji OJSC increased production volumes. In January-March 2009, the system of Azerenerji generated 24.7% of production in 2008.

Azerenerji’s press service citing the Central Dispatcher Control Office reports that 1.9 bn kWh of electricity was generated in March versus 2.1 bn kWh in January and 1.8 bn kWh in February 2009. 1.7 bn kWh of electricity was generated in Mrach by thermal power stations and 0.2 bn kWh by hydroelectric power stations. A month before 1.6 bn kWh of electricity was generated by thermal power stations and 200 million kWh by hydroelectric power stations.

“In January-March production made 5.8 bn. kWg, including 5.3 bn kWh generated by thermal power stations and 0.5 bn kWh by hydroelectric power stations,” it was informed.

For comparison: in 2008 country’s energy system generated 21.2 bn kWh of electricity, including 19 bn by thermal power stations and 2.2 bn kWh by hydro electric power stations.
