OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2009. Sberbank will not need capitalization until autumn, the bank’s chairman German Gref said. “Most likely, there will be no need for capitalization until autumn and in autumn we will see how the situation looks further down the road”, German Gref was reported as saying at a meeting with PM Vladimir Putin.

According to Gref, the Russian banking sector could experience problems with capital in autumn. “There could be capital problems in the banking sector, but as far as Sberbank is concerned, we will try to get through this year without losses”, Gref said.
