OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 July 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ OAO Minsk Sparkling Wines Plant reported a 6% increase in production of sparkling wines in January-June 2009 to 551,000 decaliters, a source in the administration of the company told.

In monetary terms, overall output of the plant rose 7.1% to 35.469 billion Belarusian RURles (Br).

Still wine output decreased 4.4% to 43,000 decaliters, including 36,000 decaliters of natural wine and 7,000 decaliters of special wine.

Exports amounted to U.S. \\\\$70,000, up 57% from last year’s first six months. Most of the exports were to the U.S., the UK and Israel.

Minsk Sparkling Wines Plant was established in 1978; it makes 80 varieties of beverages; annual output is estimated at 12 million bottles.
