OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 July 2009 CenterTelecom OJSC reported that Igor Schegolev, the Minister of Telecoms and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, visited the company's Tver branch in the course of his working visit to this region. The company demonstrated to the Minister the capabilities of a new multi-service network put in operation by CenterTelecom's Tver branch in June 2009.

The presentation of the network's capabilities held by Vaagn Martirosyan, General Director, CenterTelecom, and Gennady Brusentsev, Deputy General Director – Director of Tver branch, CenterTelecom, included demonstrations of various services provided on the basis of the new multi-service network in Tver branch. The services included online TV medical sessions, and video conferencing between basic educational organizations of Tver region. CenterTelecom also demonstrated the capabilities of IT technologies within the framework of the Federal Program for Traffic Safety and IP TV services.

CenterTelecom's work on the development of telecommunications infrastructure in the Tver region was undertaken in line with an agreement concluded by CenterTelecom and the Tver Region Administration providing for interactions in telecommunications network development. The new multi-service network will allow the Tver branch of the company to improve service quality, to offer its customers new complex solutions including IP TV, interactive video services, video monitoring etc, and also to strengthen its positions in the regional telecommunications market.
