OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 July 2009 was announced, that Deputy Prime Ministers of the Government of Karelia Alexander Kolesov and Valery Boinich have met with the German businessman Manfred Boze who has come to the republic to get acquainted with opportunities of using unique Karelian mineral of schungite in medicine. As Alexander Kolesov has emphasized, studying of schungite has just begun, however, the obtained results confirm that this mineral possesses bactericidal, anti-inflammatory and absorbent properties. In particular, some popular sanatoria of Karelia have already made a great progress in using schungite for health improving purposes. Mr Boze has noted, that he has already got acquainted with work of the schungite extracting and processing enterprise, and he was very much impressed with opportunities that lay in his reach.

According to Mr Boze, he intends to popularize schungite in Germany and in Europe, and also to consider use of grapholite in a number of projects of improving centers in Russia and abroad. Thus, Mr Boze considers it possible, that the idea of creating such center in Karelia which is both the native land of schungite and has excellent potential for development of improving tourism may seem attractive to investors. As the German businessman has emphasized, medicine has now made business of diseases, and he and his adherents from the International Health Club intend to swing this situation around and give people an opportunity to avoid diseases.

Valery Boinich has informed, that the idea of building a new improving center in Medvezhiegorsk region of the republic which would use schungite was already considered in Karelia, therefore the Government of Karelia welcomes initiatives of foreign partners in this area.

Alexander Kolesov has assured Mr Boze that the republic is interested in perspective investment projects and is ready to take part in their development and implementation.

In the future Mr Boze intends to come back to Karelia with specific business proposals.
