OREANDA-NEWS. September 07, 2009. The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Duk-Soo Kang, Chairman of STX Business Group.

A focus was placed on the possibilities of interaction between the companies when implementing Gazprom’s large-scale projects in Russia’s Arctic and Far Eastern shelves. In particular, the parties exchanged opinions with regard to the cooperation between STX Business Group and Russian shipbuilding companies.

Alexey Miller also informed Duk-Soo Kang on the progress in implementing the Eastern Gas Program. At the same time, the Korean party expressed interest in expanding the interaction within the projects being carried out in Eastern Russia.
Background

Gazprom has adopted and is implementing the Program for the Russian Federation offshore hydrocarbon resources exploitation up to 2030 (Directive No. 40 by Gazprom Management Committee, dated September 29, 2005).

The Development Program for an integrated gas production, transportation and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia-Pacific countries (Eastern Gas Program) was adopted by the September 3, 2007 Order of the Russian Federation Industry and Energy Ministry. Gazprom was appointed by the Russian Federation Government as the Eastern Gas Program execution coordinator.
