OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2009. The Department of Marketing & Economic Operations of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) registered decline in prices for all petroleum products exported in September 2009.

SOCAR informs that while it was observed growth of prices on all kinds of oil products in the range of USD 5.72 up to USD 60.97 per ton in January 2009, decrease in prices ranging USD 0.06-USD 54.78 per ton in February 2009, growth of USD 4.8 up to USD 30 per ton in March, more significant growth from USD 32.33 up to USD 47.53 per ton in April, and almost a record growth - USD 30.65-95.78 per ton in May, in June this record was cracked as well and the prices ranged USD 49.35-USD 103.44 and in July fall in range from USD 5.26 up to USD 49.01, growth from USD 52.59 to USD 68.2 was registered in August and drop in prices from USD 19.96 to USD 66.07 was fixed in September.

“In September, price for ton of motor petrol in August made up USD 625.77, aviation fuel - USD 592.57, diesel fuel USD 540.6 and black oil USD 415.5 per ton,” SOCAR said.

At the same time, in September, price on petrol dropped  by USD 66.07, aviation fuel by USD 26.578, diesel fuel by USD 40.22, and black oil by USD 19.96 per ton.

The record growth in 2009 was observed in June – 86.64, USD 103.44, USD 94.39 and USD 49.35 per ton respectively. The highest prices for oil products in 2008 were observed in June - USD 1132.02, USD 1287.27, USD 1201.55 and USD 673.81 per ton.

Simultaneously in September 2009 overall export of Azerbaijani oil products increased from  170,424 tons versus 167,366 tons in August, 154,862 tons in July, 159,478 tons in June, 171,094 tons in May, 195,492 tons in April, 162,179 tons in March, 206,468 tons in February and 191,414 tons in January of 2009, 244,642 tons in December 2008 and 343,742 tons in October 2008.

As a result of January-September 2009 overall export of petroleum products made up 1.58 million tons versus 2.58 million tons over all 2008.
