OREANDA-NEWS. November 02, 2009. In mid-October a container with 0.5 liter glass bottles of Arsenalnoe Traditional beer was shipped from Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg to Chile. The total volume of the shipment was 10,000 liters. Such beer shipment by sea takes a month and a half on average. Arsenalnoe Traditional will reach Chile just in time for the beer-drinking season, which in the Southern Hemisphere begins at the end of November.

Arsenalnoe Traditional beer will be distributed throughout Chile, with most sales concentrated in the largest cities of the country. Baltika Breweries has created a label with a Latinized Arsenalnoe logo specifically for the Chilean market, as well as a special ‘four-pack’ packaging. Arsenalnoe Traditional will be positioned in Chile in the ‘Imported premium beers' segment, which enjoys a growing interest in the region.

Dmitri Kistev, the Director of Exports at Baltika Breweries, says: Baltika Breweries is the only Russian company supplying beer to Chile. The high economic potential of the country and the growth in popularity of imported beer among the local population make this an attractive market for us. Strengthening our positions in Latin America is another step towards the achievement of one of the strategic goals of our company: to become the standard in the world beer industry.

Chile is one of the most economically-developed countries in the region, member of Mercosur along with Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. Commencing supplies to Chile continues Baltika Breweries’ successful development of the lucrative Latin-American market. In addition to Chile, Baltika Breweries exports to Guatemala, Salvador, Honduras, Uruguay and Cuba.

The size of Chile’s population is approximately 17 million, with 35 liters in annual beer consumption per head. Favorable macroeconomic indicators, population growth and prosperity of Chileans are all good predictors of a continued growth of the premium imported beer market in that country.

Arsenalnoe is a beer with a masculine characteristic, brewed for real men, who value honor, power, patriotism and family. The massive shield on the brand’s label is a symbol of manliness and power, while it also symbolizes the special attitude of Russian brewers towards the quality of their beer: the quality of Arsenalnoe is always well- guarded.
