The calendar of oil and gas events in 2009 ends with Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure 2009, the 4th Mangystau Regional Oil, Gas and Infrastructure Exhibition, and OilTech Mangystau 2009, the 1st Mangystau Regional Petroleum Technology Conference. The events will be held on 3-5 November in the Grand Nur Plaza Hotel & Convention Centre, Aktau, Kazakhstan.

With a 94% share of the oil and gas industry and the only seaport in Kazakhstan, Mangystau Region is a vital link in the INOGATE Programme, which supports international energy cooperation between the EU, the littoral states of the Black and Caspian Seas and their neighbouring countries. In addition, work is currently underway to establish the Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System (KCTS), the purpose of which is to export the increasing volumes of Kazakhstani oil that will be produced, primarily, at the Kashagan and Tengiz fields, via the Caspian Sea and Azerbaijan’s oil transport systems, to international markets.

Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure, which began in 2006, has already gained recognition from specialists as a key industry event. This year, there will be about 100 exhibitors, including oil processing, construction, service, engineering and transportation companies; and equipment and telecoms suppliers from the UK, Germany, Holland, India, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, France, the United States and other countries.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see the stands of key companies in the industry, such as JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production, KazPromPribor, Kazstroyinnovatsiya, Aktau Sea Port Special Economic Zone, Elektrokomplekt, Aktau Tech Vest, Bumar, DGM, FMC, Gmmos, Kariertau, Kaz Spo-N, Lloyds Register, SBS Group, Shell, Smith, Stroy Master, Thyssenkrupp, Waare Kazakhstan and Zaman SVA.

For the first time, a technological conference, OilTech Mangystau 2009, will be held alongside the exhibition on 3-4 November. The aim of the conference is to highlight the latest technical issues for the development of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry. In addition to senior representatives of a number of oil and gas companies, there will be talks by the Deputy Mayor of Mangystau Region, Amankeldi Aitkulov, and the Deputy Mayor of Aktau, Taras Khituov. The conference will provide a platform for the discussion of important technical issues in regional development, with the participation of the Mayor’s Office of Mangystau Region, investors, leading suppliers in the oil and gas market, experts in the field of exploration and production, and consulting companies.

The events are organised by the Kazakhstani exhibition company Iteca and its international partners, ITE Group Plc (UK) and ITE Moscow LLC (Russia). Support is provided by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Mayor’s Office of Mangystau Region, the Mayor’s Office of Aktau, and JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production. The 2010 oil and gas exhibition season will open with Atyrau Oil&Gas 2010, the 9th North Caspian Regional Atyrau Oil, Gas and Infrastructure Exhibition, and OilTech Atyrau 2010, the 4th Atyrau Regional Petroleum Technology Conference, which will take place on 6-8 April in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.
