OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2010. The Energy Cooperation Contest held by IES-Holding in order to increase the efficiency of power and energy consumption received recognition in Europe. Together with such companies as Е.ОN, Fortum and Shell, IES-Holding is among the five nominees for European Excellence Awards in Energy category.

IES-Holding is the only large Russian corporate business on the shortlist of the European Excellence Awards. However, one more Russian project is a nominee in Health category: this is an information campaign for development of voluntary blood donation by the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia.

"This year's award attracted more than 1,200 participants - an unprecedented number. Such a tough competition makes the nominees' achievements all the more important," said Marc-Oliver Voigt, chairman of the jury at the European Excellence Award.

Over 1,000 legal entities consuming heat and power in 16 Russian regions participated in IES-Holding's Energy Cooperation Contest. Within this contest, IES also held a number of events to promote the energy consumption culture.

The European Excellence Awards honour outstanding projects in the field of marketing or PR communications submitted by European agencies and companies. The jury members include esteemed experts representing a wide range of industries and organizations including European Banking Federation, European Association of Communication Directors, Publicis Consultants Worldwide, Amnesty International, BP, Weber Shandwick Europe, Edelman, Burson-Marsteller, Ketchum, ENI Italia and Deutsche Telekom.
