OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2010. Sugar makers of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan plan to register a sugar union of the Customs Union member-states in 2010, the chairman of Belgospischeprom concern Ivan Danchenko told.

“The constituent documents have not been registered yet; the protocol of intent was signed in December. We are working on constituent documents, and I believe the union will be registered in January,” he said.

The union will be headquartered in Moscow.

In 2010, Belarus plans to export 150,000 tonnes of sugar to Russia and 50,000 tonnes to Kazakhstan. Domestic supplies will reach 350,000-360,000 tonnes.
