OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2010. Belarus in 2010 will launch a program to develop bio- and nanotechnologies, Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky said during a session of the Council of Ministers.

“We will focus on the cooperation between science and real production. There are many interesting proposals from the National Academy of Sciences, including new generation of productions in bio- and nanotechnologies. This program has been signed by the government and will be launched in 2010,” Sidorsky said.

The government will also emphasize the development of small towns with a view to increasing the contribution of small towns in import substitution.

The Belarusian monetary policy for 2010 will be aimed at bringing closer loan rates and the economic expansion rate, Sidorsky said.
