OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2010. Since 2008 the Baku Interbank Currency Exchange (BBVB) has been conducting competition entitled “The Rate of E-Exchange Trading System (BEST)” or BEST-Rate Competition. In December, a representative of a nonfinancial company won the contest the second time in its history.

BBVB informs that summarizing the results of December, chief employee of Azercell LLC Orkhan Gasimov won the contest.

The USD/AZN exchange rate he forecasted proved to be the closest to the results of the last BEST daytime trade session in December.

The winner was handed over a valuable gift on behalf of BBVB management.

Last year in February and March the competition was won by Mekhriban Huseynli, the director of the AGBank OJSC Development Department’s Discount System & Acquiring Office; in April by Jabrail Agayev, a Bank Standard’s Treasury Department specialist; in May by Ilgar Yusubov, a leading specialist of the Bank Standard’s Treasury Department; in July by Valeriya Guliyeva, a member of Bank of Azerbaijan OJSC Audit Committee; in August by Vusala Mirzoyeva, the director of the AzerTurkBank OJSC Department of Transactions with Individuals, in September by Jebrail Agayev, a specialist of the Bank Standard’s Treasury Department; in October and November by Bank of Azerbaijan’s currency trader Aziz Talibov, and in December by Yusif Yusifov, a senior specialist of the Bank of Azerbaijan’s Depositary Department.

In January, 2009,  the contest was won by Faran Agayev, auditor of Azerneqliyyetbank; in February by Sevda Fattayeva, deputy chief accountant of Azerneqliyyetbank; in March by Samir Veliyev, chief of the Department of International Settlements of Zaminbank’s Ganjlik branch; in April by Latafet Aliyeva, finance director of Bank of Azerbaijan; in May by Arif Gasimov, inspector of Kavkaz Trans Ltd; in June by Riad Pashayev, an official of Bank of Baku; in July by Gulnara Shukurova, specialist of Azerneqliyyatbank’s Financial Department; in August by Jamil Bagirov, head of Azerneqliyyatbank’s Treasury Office; in September by Vusal Akparov, director of Azerneqliyyetbank’s Department of Information Technologies; in October by Elchin Jafarov, senior scientific employee of the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and Candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, in November – chief specialist of Azerneqliyyatbank Credit Department Tural Aliyev.

Under the BEST-Rate Competition conditions, specialists of banks and employees of private and state companies, students and other interested persons excluding the BBVB staff may demonstrate their analytic skills.

The exchange receives forecasts of USD/AZN average weighted rate after afternoon trade session on the last workday of each month.
