OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2010. Freight traffic via the Port of Nakhodka in January-April 2010 rose by 5.5% from the same period 2009, to 5.39 million tons.

The volume includes ferrous metals 6.3-percent gain, to 1.717 million tons, coal (anthracite and charge) that increased by 48% to 846.400 tons. The volume of non-ferrous metals dropped by 33% from Jan-Apr, 2009, to 98,300 tons. Petroleum products increased by 1.3%, to 2.34 million tons. Container trade slumped 2.8 times as much, to 766 TEUs. In April cargo turnover at the port rose by 10.6%, to 1,436,000 tons.

Russian Port of Nakhodka is located in the northern Bay of Nakhodka. The year-round navigable Port is connected via Trans-Siberian Railroad with the railway network of Russia and Western Europe. Last year’s throughput of Nakhodka Port amounted to 15,760.700 tons.
