OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2010. A meeting of the Operational taskforce for the construction of energy facilities included in the “Development of the City of Vladivostok as an International Cooperation Center in the Asia-Pacific Region” Federal Targeted (Special-Purposed) Program, as well as of those facilities meant to supply electricity for the 2012 Asia-Pacific Economic Community (APEC) Summit, has taken place in the offices of the Main Electrical Systems (MES) of East, a subsidiary of JSC FGC UES. Vladimir Kalinin, deputy Chairman of the FGC UES Management Board, has led the staff meeting. Representatives of MES of East and contracting organizations took part in the meeting.

The topic of taskforce’s discussion was the progress of the construction works on the 220 kV Aeroport, Patrokl, ad Russkaya substations (SS), the 220 kV power transmission lines between Artemovskaya TPP and Vladivostok and between Artemovskaya TPP and Zeleny Ugol. Construction work schedules and technical solutions which will be used during the construction of the 220 kV Zeleny Ugol SS and the 220 kV Zeleny Ugol – Russkaya power transmission line across the Eastern Bosphorus (Russian Far East) strait that will begin this year were also discussed.

Construction and installation works are currently being done on the 220 kV outdoor switchgear at the 220 kV Aeroport substation. Finishing works in the substation control room and the security station as well as the installation of secondary equipment is almost complete. Layout works, subsoil works, installation of gutters and foundations are currently being undertaken at the 220 kV Patrokl substation. Foundation works for 110 kV outdoor switchgear equipment and the construction of the outdoor switchgear building are being done at the 220 kV Russkaya substation. Construction and installation works are in the process of being completed at the 20 km 220 kV Artemovskaya TPP – Vladivostok transmission line. Construction of the 45.3 km 220 kV Artemovskaya TPP – Zeleny Ugol line has also been commissioned.

The most technically challenging of the main power grid facility which is designed to supply electricity to the APEC Summit facilities currently under construction will be the construction of the underwater 220 kV Zeleny Ugol – Russkaya power transmission line across the Eastern Bosphorus strait. The location, dimensions and structural design of the cable terminals which take into account the laying technology and construction environment are currently being defined. Topographical research is being conducted on the possible places for the cable to exit underwater section of the line, and the underwater route is being inspected.

FGC UES construction operations of electrical grid facilities required to supply electricity to the 2012 APEC summit are carried out in accordance with the schedule set by the Ministry of Energy of Russia. The construction works are carried out in the context of the “Development of the City of Vladivostok as an International Cooperation Center in the Asia-Pacific Region” Federal Targeted (Special-Purposed) Subprogram, as well as the FGC UES Investment Program.
