OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2010. The upper chamber of parliament, the Council of the Republic, has adopted a package of agreements to form the Customs Union.

The chamber ratified the protocol on collection of indirect taxes and mechanism to control tax payment in commodity export and import operations; protocol on collection of indirect taxes from services and work performed within the Customs Union; and the protocol on amendments to the procedure of collection of indirect taxes for commodity export and import operations and provision of work and services in the Customs Union dated January 25, 2008.

Also, the chamber ratified the agreement on sanitary measures, veterinary and sanitary measures and on plant quarantine.

Furthermore, the lower house ratified the agreement on turnover of products subject to mandatory conformance evaluation; agreement on mutual recognition of certification authorities and laboratory test results.
