OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2010. The oil-producing enterprises of TNK-BP in the Nizhnevartovsk, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk Regions diminished their oil losses related to power supply failures by 48.7% owing to implementation of the project “Quality Management in the Power Supply System”, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

This project rearranged the power supply system operation and oriented it to prevention of failures and emergency shutdowns at oil-producing facilities. As a result, the total number of failures in the power supply system dropped by 24%.

Combination of power equipment repair works with scheduled repair and maintenance works of customer enterprises accounted for approximately 19% of the savings related to oil loss reduction. Overlap of repair and maintenance times of high-voltage transmission lines and well pad substations and use of integrated repair and maintenance crews accounted for over 30% of the savings.

The project “Quality Management in the Power Supply System” became the basis that allowed LLC Nizhnevartovskenergoneft incorporated in TNK-BP to come very close to certification for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001:2008 for quality management systems. Preparation of the company to certification will be discussed at the meeting of the Steering Committee of the company headed by Pavel Strunilin, Vice President, Power Supply, TNK-BP.
