OREANDA-NEWS. July 07, 2010. Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbaev during the trip to Karaganda oblast visited the KazBelAZ plant, a part of the Kazakhmys Group. The delegation was composed of members of the government and parliament, reported the press-centre of KASE.

The plant producing pit-run and underground mining machines was established jointly with the Byelorussian auto plant on the base of Karanganda casting and machine-building plant at the end of Y2009. Over USD70 m was invested in the project. Kazakhmys has a 51 % share in the project.

Genadiy Li plant director reported on the operation of the plant and introduced guests to the production process and products.

Currently the plant is repairing large trucks, with future plans to produce new machines under the make of KazBelAZ and assembly parts for mining and special machines, thus allowing for less cost of machines for mining companies. Today the plant is providing roughly 1000 jobs and the project will create 100 more jobs.

Vladimir Kim, Kazakhmys Chairman said: "we are pleased to have had an opportunity to show the government the new project, which will create more jobs in Karaganda oblast and better conditions for businesses. Production of mining trucks and assembly parts at the plant and service maintenance in Kazakhstan will lead to economy of funds and diversification of job market".
