OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2010. The press conference of Daniyar Tiyessov, Managing Director for Oil Refining and Marketing (Member of the Management Board) of JSC NC “KazMunayGas”, was held at KMG’s Corporate Centre on 16 June, where he informed the public on the progress on the investment projects within the framework of the State Program for Boosted Industrial-and-innovation-based Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010 -2014.

As Daniyar Tiyessov noted, ‘JSC NC “KazMunayGas” is implementing the projects for reconstruction of the existing units CDU-AVDU and delayed coker, construction of the aromatics production complex (APC) and deeper oil conversion complex (DOCC) in LLP “Atyrau Refinery”’.

- After completion of construction of the projects in the Atyrau Refinery, the processing depth will increase up to 87%, high added value products will be output, meeting the requirements of the Euro-4 standard, as well as feedstocks for the petrochemical industry – benzene and paraxylene, - D. Tiyessov noted.

Works on signing the finance-and-loan agreement for funding the construction are underway on the APC project. Construction and assembly works are carried on for the CDU-AVDU and delayed coker reconstruction project, basic engineering for the DOCC project is underway.

The projects for reconstruction and modernization of the refineries of “PetroKazakhstan Oil Products" (Shymkent Refinery) and LLP “Pavlodar PC Plant” are aimed to increase the designed capacity of the refineries, increase the oil processing depth up to 90%, improve the quality of the oil products up to the Euro-4 standard, reduce the atmospheric emissions of pollutants. Feasibility studies for these projects are being developed.

For the purpose of development of petrochemistry in the RoK, KMG is implementing the road bitumens production project in the Aktau Plastic Plant. The crude of the Karazhanbas field in the amount of up to 1.0 mln. tons per year is proposed to be used as the feed stock. Upon completion of construction in 2012, Kazakhstan will produce road bitumens of the BND 60/90, BND 90/130 grades and polymer-modified bitumen in the amount of at least 400 thousand tons per annum.

The Agreement on purchases of facilities turnkey construction works between LLP “Caspi Bitum” and the Consortium of JSC “OGCC “Kazstroyservice” and CITIC Construction was signed on 3 June this year. Currently, preparatory and dismantling works have commenced at the APP construction site.
