Thus is the main idea of press conference, held by International Association of Road Hauliers of Moldova (AITA) on the topic Principles and Strategies of TIR system advantages.

The role of International Road Transport Union (IRU) and AITA is in use of TIR procedures in Moldova. Vladimir Florea stressed that the activity of AITA from the moment of its registration in 1992 and till present demonstrates that the Association operates abiding strictly the requirements of adopted Decree, current legislation of Moldova and International conventions to which Moldova has joined.

It was also stressed that the Association doesn’t perform the monopoly activity, dominated or connected with disloyal competition. TIR Carnets, issued by AITA, are used by Moldovan hauliers only to transport cargoes outside Moldova (or en route), and the Association doesn’t lead the process of organization and regulation of applications for cargo transportation. Besides, the AITA Association doesn’t perform the commercial activity and according to the terms of the Decree, the profit remained after tax payment and obligatory payments isn’t distributed between the members, but according to the decisions of the Council is channeled on the development of international road transport in Moldova.

Currently, the members of AITA Association are more than 825 transport operators, among which 63 companies are the foundation-members of AITA Association, 414 of transport operators are the holders of TIR Carnets, and 341 are using services having no right to get TIR Carnet. Database of AITA includes 6442 transport facilities and 5622 are registered on professional drivers.
