OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2010. The reconstruction of the open storage grounds being carried out at the moment on the territory of Second Stevedoring Company (part of the group “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”) will make it possible to handle additional 200 thousand tons of cargoes per year.

Construction of open grounds for storage of general cargoes is being carried out on the territory where outdated capacities were located (warehouses Nr. 9 and 10). The area of the reconstructed open storage grounds will amount to 12 thousand square meters.

Reconstruction is performed within the development programme of port infrastructure which is being implemented by the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”. According to preliminary data within 6 months of 2010 the group of companies transferred about 19 mln. rubles for construction of new capacities on the territory of Second Stevedoring Company.

The group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”, part of Universal Cargo Logistic Holding includes “First Stevedoring Company”, “Second Stevedoring Company”, “Third Stevedoring company”, CJSC “Fourth Stevedoring Company”, “Multipurpose Reloading Complex” in Ust-Luga  and a number of service companies.

The development programme of port infrastructure of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” envisages construction of modern specialized terminal facilities on the territory of stevedoring companies which are part of the group UCL Holding. This will make it possible to increase the turnover up to 20 mln. tons per year and attract the profitable cargo flows for all the divisions of the holding.
