OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2010. The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine and State Enterprise "Boryspil International Airport" will prepare by August 15, 2010 a technical and economic feasibility study for the construction of an additional runway at the airport, and by December 1 2010 - a railway line Kyiv-Boryspil airport. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said this at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Mykola Azarov has noted that Boryspil airport will allocate funds for the development of project documentation.

He reminded that the airport has currently two runways and completion of a new terminal "D" (it’s due for completion in 2010) will increase the passenger traffic to 8 million people per year. "The question of a new runway and construction of passenger rail service between Boryspil and Kyiv came up", Mykola Azarov proved the necessity of the proposed projects of the construction of an additional runway at the airport and a railway line between Kyiv and Boryspil airport.

According to the Prime Minister, the Government at its meeting is to consider a draft order on improving the capacity of Boryspil International Airport and transport communication with the capital.
