OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2010. Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) and an Indonesian regional carrier Kartika Airlines have finalized an order for 30 SSJ100/95B aircraft. The deal is valued at 951mln. USD at current list prices.

The contract signed by the president of SCAC Vladimir Prishyazhnyuk and the CEO of Kartika Mr. Kim Johanes Mulia Jiauw confirms the earlier intention of Kartika to buy SSJ100 jetliners. The Heads of Agreement announced in Jakarta in December 2008 included 15 aircraft and 15 as an option. The document sealed today incorporates all 30 aircraft as a firm order with the delivery schedule planned for 2012-2015.

“Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a perfect tool to bridge the market gap on regional capacity as major Indonesian carriers are focused on large single aisle aircraft. With this new right-sized aircraft we can develop and serve more point-to-point destinations with obvious operational efficiency and unsurpassed comfort for passengers” - stated the CEO of Kartika Mr. Kim Johanes Mulia Jiauw.

“I welcome aboard our first South East Asia customer – Kartika Airlines. This deal is a new chapter in the Sukhoi Superjet 100 Program. It’s a real milestone in achievement of our strategic goal to take a solid position in the South East Asia market. Indonesia is a country with robust GDP growth, geography and demography ideal for air transportation. I strongly believe that Kartika’s experience in flying SSJ100 will pave the way to new orders coming from the region”, - said the President of SCAC Vladimir Prishyazhnyuk, commenting the deal.
