OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2010. The annual Week of Information and Communication Technologies Infocom 2010 will be held in Uzbekistan in September. The week will host a number of events aimed at improvement of the ICT sector.

The week will open with a National ICT Summit, held for the eighth time this year. The summit is being organized by the Coordination Council for ICT Development, Legislative Chamber’s Information and Communication Technologies Committee, Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information, UNDP through its ICT Policy project and the Association of IT Companies and Organizations of Uzbekistan.

About 350 participants from countries like India, Spain, Israel, South Korea, Russia, USA, Turkey and Czech Republic, as well as key players of Uzbek IT market will attend the ICT Summit.

The forum will be held in three thematic sections: Strategies and Development, Technologies and Infrastructure, and Applications and Solutions.

During the summit, about 50 reports will be presented on achievements and problems in IT development in Uzbekistan. At the end of the summit, a resolution will be adopted.

While the ICT Summit is the platform for the discussion of the solutions, new ideas and perspectives of the ICT sector, the ICTExpo 2010 that follows the summit is a demonstration part of the ICT Week.
