OREANDA-NEWS. September 9, 2010. The main goal of Yekaterina Lapshina is to further develop TV, publishing and Internet businesses of the Group as well as to improve economic efficiency of SCM media assets.

"The long-term development strategy of SCM Group is based on principles of reasonable diversification", said CEO of SCM Oleg Popov. "Media sector has always been one of our most interesting non-industrial businesses which has a significant growth potential in Ukraine. We have done much to improve our positions in this market over the past years, and we view our investment in media assets as a strategic priority. Therefore we decided to introduce a new position in SCM - Director of Media Business Development".

The Director of Media Business Development Yekaterina Lapshina will represent the interests of SCM as the shareholder at the Supervisory Board meetings of the Group's media assets. Ms Lapshina will be responsible for the development and investment strategy of TRK Ukraina, Segodnya Multimedia publishing business and Digital Ventures (Internet business of SCM Group), as well as for the issues related to finances and risk management.

Commenting on her appointment, Yekaterina Lapshina said:  "I appreciate this show of confidence in me. I have no doubt that together with highly professional team of SCM and the Group's media assets we will be able to both strengthen the market positions of our TV channels, Internet resources and print editions as well as to ensure their profitable growth. In 2003 Yekaterina Lapshina received a Bachelor of Economics degree from the Institute of International Economic Relations (Moscow).  In 2005 she graduated from the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation and received a Master of Economics. Besides, Yekaterina Lapshina is a CMA (Certified Financial Manager) holder and a CFA Level 2 Candidate (Certified Management Analyst).

Before SCM Yekaterina Lapshina took position of a senior consultant at the international auditing company Ernst&Young (March 2004 — August 2006), Deputy Director of Business Development at Energoprom Management (August 2006 — September 2008), Investment Director and junior partner at Adela Holding Limited (from November 2008).
