OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2010. Murmansk Sea Commercial Port has announced plans to invest USD 227m in reconstruction of the first cargo complex.

Under reconstruction, the funds are to be used to form a 540-meter-long and 16.6-meter-deep dock line, that will allow to service Panamax and Capesize ships with tonnage capacity of 75,000 to 120,000 tons.

The funds are also to be used to increase storage room to 300,000 tons of bulk cargos.

Reconstruction is scheduled to take place in 2010-2014.

As a result of reconstruction, the cargo complex’s traffic capacity is expected to double – to 12.9 million tons of coal in 2015.
