OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2010. Belarus’ farm output increased 0.1% on the year in January-August to 19.892 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), a source in the National Statistics Committee told.

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 5.3% on the year in January-August to 881,700 tonnes, milk output rose 0.6% to 4.67 million tonnes, and egg output went up 3.1% to 2.463 billion units.

Return on sales of Belarus’ agribusiness reached 4.4% in January-July 2010, down from 5.8% in January-July 2009.

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to 1.1 trillion rubles in January-July 2010, up 2.8% on the year.

In January-July 2010, farms’ net loss reached 23.6 billion rubles, up 350% year-on-year. There were 31 unprofitable farms, compared to 16 loss-makers in January-July 2009.

Overdue payables of Belarus’ agriculture were at 2 trillion rubles as of August 1, 2010, 17.8% of all payables.
