OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2010.  High-ranking representatives of 44 countries, who are in charge of security issues, and UN representatives got acquainted with the construction progress of sports stadiums in the Olympic Park. The closing conference of the meeting of chiefs of security agencies took place here as well, on the site of the construction of Olympic Venues at the construction headquarters of SC "Olympstroy".

First Deputy President of SC "Olympstroy" Taymuraz Bolloev gave the account of the current stage of the Olympic construction. Vice president on Security of SC "Olympstroy" Nikolay Gryaznov made a report on safety on the construction sites.

SC "Olympstroy" has taken additional measures to enhance security in Krasnaya Polyana. A special checkpoint has started to operate there, which is connected to GNSS control center, which controls cargo delivery to the specially protected venues in the mountain cluster. The cars with constructional materials, equipment and building structures for the Olympic venues under construction are inspected.

5 checkpoints are in operation in the Imeretinskaya Lowland where Olympic skating centres are being constructed. Closed circuit television and security alarm system, which is designed to prevent unauthorized penetration, are installed along the perimeter of the Olympic Park. A number of technical devices are used to protect the construction sites, in particular: portable X-ray scanners, metal detectors and explosive detectors. They are used to examine people, automobile transport and cargo coming in to the site area. More than 2,125 security officers are employed to watch over more than 72 Olympic Venues.

A special emphasis was laid upon the safety aspect of the Olympic Games in course of the meeting in Sochi. The Russian party said that they will use the experience of the countries that hosted the Olympic Games to ensure security in Sochi in 2014.
