OREANDA-NEWS. December 24, 2010. Ingosstrakh OJSIC and the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia (IHFR) have signed a cooperation agreement under which, just like in the past, the insurer has been granted the status of the official insurer of the IHFR, Partner of Russia’s National Ice Hockey Team and Russia’s Junior National Ice Hockey Team

In the 2010/2011 season Ingosstrakh-Life will provide 24/7 insurance coverage for the Russian National male ice hockey team during training camps and international competitions as well as while they travel to and from the locations of training camps and games in accordance with the team’s schedule of games and training. In 2010 Ingosstrakh-Life also insured the players of the Russian national team for the duration of their training camps (including the Olympic training camp in Moscow), the games of the Euro tour, the preparation for and the games of the 2010 World Ice Hockey Championship.

The new insurance contract has been signed for one year. The coverage includes such risks as death as a result of an accident or disease, disability as a result of an accident, injury, surgery required after an accident.

It should be noted that the partnership between the insurance company in the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia began four years ago in September 2006 when Ingosstrakh was granted the status of the official partner of the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia, partner of the Super League, Partner of Russia’s National Ice Hockey Team and Russia’s Junior National Ice Hockey Team and the official insurer of the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia.

During the Ice Hockey World Cups in Moscow in 2007, in Canada in 2008, in Switzerland in 2009 and in Germany in 2010 the majority of the Russian players were insured by Ingosstrakh-Life. The insurance company performed all of its obligations by paying compensations to ice hockey players who got injured during the games. The Ice Hockey Federation of Russia was the insurant in the insurance contracts.

Commenting the signing of the new cooperation agreement with the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia, the vice president of Ingosstrakh OJSIC Ilya Solomatin noted, ‘In the five years of our cooperation the Russian National Ice Hockey Team has significantly improved its performance and now we can say with certitude that we have a strong team deserving of the top of the podium in the most high profile competitions, a team which most other teams regard as a worthy opponent. We can vividly remember our team’s brilliant victories at the world championships in 2008 and 2009 when our players fully lived up to the reputation of the invincible Soviet teams of the past, finally winning the long-awaited gold medals. Now the next challenge is the Olympics in 2014. For Ingosstrakh, the company that insured the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, not getting involved with such an important event is simply out of the question. The company is going to support the upcoming 2014 Olympics and will be an official partner of the event. In addition to that, we will continue to help prepare and train young ice hockey players who’ll be able to join our National team in 2014 to represent our country at the Sochi Olympics.’

‘Ice Hockey is a team sport and I’m sure that we’ve got to work together if we want to achieve outstanding results. The help and support that we get from our partners allow Russian hockey players to prepare for important tournaments professionally and confidently work towards success,’ says the president of the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia, Olympic, World and European champion Vladislav Tretyak, ‘ I hope that in future the partnership between the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia and Russian businesses, including Ingosstrakh will be just as  successful and help our National Team win more.’
