OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2011. In 2011 Rosatom would start establishing its representative offices at RF embassies in the foreign countries with which Russia was developing cooperation in the nuclear sector

Head of the company Sergey Kiriyenko said.

“Starting from this year, right now we begin establishing representative offices at the Russian embassies in the countries being our partners. Constant presence is an important thing”, — Kiriyenko said at the meeting with RF President Dmitry Medvedev.

The president reminded that at the end of the previous year he signed a law which “altered some clauses concerning the status of Rosatom State Corporation“. „These are critical amendments to the law which was passed three years ago, then many things were different“, Kiriyenko said.

He noted that the amendments „more precisely governed the issues of nuclear and radiation safety, construction of nuclear power plants as well as gave more authority to Rosatom including with regard to the nuclear icebreaker fleet“.

„In addition, it expanded the opportunities for the work abroad, I mean, in particular, representative offices at the embassies“, Head of Rosatom said. „We’d already coordinated everything with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and were waiting only for this law“, he added.
