OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2011. LLC TNK-Uvat (subsidiary of TNK-BP) improved drilling efficiency in 2010 by 16.7% compared to 2009 and showed one of the best results in Downstream, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

In 2010, 67 wells were drilled in the Uvat project fields in the south of the Tyumen Region, said Sergey Samyshkin, Acting Director of the Drilling Department of LLC TNK-Uvat. 33 wells were drilled in the Urnenskoe field, 11 wells in the Tyamkinskoe field, and 23 wells in the Ust-Tegusskoe field, including four horizontal wells and two dual-pumping wells.

“These wells were drilled with drilling strings of increased diameter, which made the drilling technologies much more complicated,” explained Sergey Samyshkin.

In 2011, LLC TNK-Uvat is going to drill 99 wells, 39 of them in the Urnenskoe and Ust-Tegusskoe fields and 21 in the Tyamkinskoe field.

“Innovative technologies will be used for performance of drilling works, including rotary steerable systems, high-speed high-torque positive-displacement motors, and remote control of drilling processes,” added Sergey Samyshkin.

The drilling meterage exceeded the plan by 18.7% and amounted to nearly 260,000 meters, the average drilling time was 18 days for directional wells and 47 days for horizontal wells.

Drilling of well No.2500 in the Ust-Tegusskoe field yielded a record for LLC TNK-Uvat. The T-501 drilling rig team drilled 1.004 m in just exactly one day, which is a record for TNK-BP.
