OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2011. A meeting of Roscosmos and UK Space Agency took place in London, UK, on July 13.

Head of the Russian Federal Space Agency Vladimir Popovkin and David Williams, CEO of the UK Space Agency, discussed current status and future of the bilateral space cooperation.

V.Popovkin noted that the collaboration is in progress in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between Roscosmos and UK Space Agency signed in July 2010.

Roscosmos Head made a set of proposals aimed at specifying and promoting of joint activities, including establishment of the working group of Russian and British space experts which is to develop cooperation road map for the agencies.

The parties achieved an agreement to review GLONASS application issues, as well as microgravity experiments in the International Space Station.

On July 14, Russian delegation will participate in the festive opening of Gagarin’s monument in the down-town of the UK capital.
