OREANDA-NEWS. August 8, 2011. Belarus’ consumer price index went up 2.3% on July 1-19, up 39.3% since the beginning of the year, an official in the National Statistics Committee told reporters.

On July 1-19 prices for potatoes rose 28.6%, live fish – 28.4%, vegetable oil – 15.6%, apples – 9.6%, medical services – 9.5%, beer – 7.7%, jewelry – 7.7%, medications – 7.3%.

In 2010, consumer prices grew by 9.9% while in 2009 the growth was 10.1%. The forecast for 2011 stands at 7.5%-8.5%.
