OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2011. On 21-23 September 2011, Almaty will host three exhibitions on related topics: MiningWorld Central Asia, Kazcomak and KazMet.

The events are organised by Iteca and its international partners from Germany, UK, China, and Turkey.

For the first time since the launch of the events, the exhibitions will be located in three pavilions and the outdoor area at Atakent Exhibition Centre. The total exhibition area has increased by 33% compared with last year, reaching 8385 square metres.

Together the exhibitions will present 290 direct and indirect exhibitors from 27 countries: Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom and United States. Kazakhstan accounts for the greatest number of exhibitors, making up 31% of the exhibitions.

Particularly noteworthy is the twofold increase in the outdoor exhibition area, with all the available outdoor space in front of the Atakent Exhibition Centre pavilions now occupied. In 2011, MiningWorld Central Asia, Kazcomak and KazMet will set a record: the outdoor exhibition area will be the largest one in Kazakhstan, presenting major manufacturers and suppliers of construction, mining, road-building and municipal machinery.

Four national stands will be presented at MiningWorld Central Asia, Kazcomak, and KazMet 2011. Along with the traditional national stands of Australia (6 companies), France (10 companies), Norway (4 companies), and Finland (12 companies), companies from Russia (49 companies) and China (29 companies) will be widely presented. Russia’s Ural Federal District has arranged collective participation of over 10 companies.

The business programme promises to be very informative and eventful. On day one, a roundtable on The Features of Procurement by Subsoil Users will be held in the seminar room (Pavilion 9C, Stand 147). The roundtable is organised by the Republican Association of Mining and Metallurgical Enterprises (AGMP) and Iteca. The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan will participate in the roundtable and deliver a paper entitled “The Procedure for the Procurement of Goods, Works and Services by Subsoil Users”. In addition, a paper will be presented by representatives of the National Agency for Development of Local Content JSC (NADLoC) entitled “Practical Issues of Operating the ‘Register of Goods, Works and Services Used in Conducting Subsoil Use Operations’ Information System”. At the roundtable, the AGMP will cover the topic “Basic Provisions of the New Draft Regulations for Procurement of Goods, Works and Services by Subsoil Users and the Types of Procurement Thereof”.

On day two, the seminar room (Pavilion 9C, Stand 147) will host seminars on: “Methods of Recovery by Gravity Separation and Intensive Cyanide Leaching”; “Ultra-Fine Recovery Techniques”; “ME - Elecmetal Mill Liners and Grinding Bodies Made of High-Quality Steels and Alloys” by Knelson Ltd; “Ruselprom’s Experience of Cooperation with Mining Industry Companies. Manufacturing Capabilities. Experience in Developing and Implementing Energy-Saving Technologies”; and “The Feasibility and Benefits of Optimising Technological Processes of Mining and Processing Enterprises” by Metso Kazakhstan.

Official support for the exhibitions is provided by the Committee of Geology and Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, Republican Association of Mining and Metallurgical Enterprises (AGMP), Tau-Ken Samruk National Mining Company JSC, Almaty City Administration, and diplomatic missions of the participating countries.

Bekzada Turganbayev, Acting Chairman of the Committee for Geology and Subsoil Use, Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, emphasised the importance of the events for the country: “Kazakhstan belongs to the limited number of countries rich in minerals, which plays a crucial role in the development of the country’s economy. The task of improving mining and mineral processing technologies has now become all the more important, and corresponds to the strategy of industrial and innovative industry development. MiningWorld Central Asia, Kazcomak, and KazMet 2011 will enable lessons to be learned, introduce exhibitors and visitors to promising technologies, and help identify the best and most successful solutions in the mining and ore processing industries, which will ensure the sustainable development of Kazakh industry.”

Every year, the events demonstrate advanced technologies and the most recent achievements in the mining and metallurgical industries, which are later used by businesses in Kazakhstan.
