OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2011. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received James Albaugh, Executive Vice President of the Boeing Company and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Boeing Commercial Airplanes in his residence in New York.

Greeting the leader of Turkmenistan, the top manager of the Boeing Company expressed gratitude for the opportunity to discuss the issues regarding further development of mutually advantageous cooperation during a personal meeting and congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the successful speech before the session of the UN General Assembly.

Thanking for the kind words, the Turkmen leader highly evaluated the contribution that the largest American company had made to modernization of the civil air fleet of Turkmenistan.

Exchanging views on the current state and prospects of bilateral partnerships, the top manager of the Boeing Company informed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the fulfillment of the previous agreements to meet the Turkmen leader’s comments and proposals.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed that Turkmenistan sought to continue mutually advantageous cooperation, the major aspects of which involved maintenance services and training highly qualified specialists, including flying and technical personnel and flight attendants, at the Boeing Company. The Turkmen leader said that the profound expertise of the world-renowned company in this sphere would be very useful for Turkmenistan.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan intends to replenish the civil air fleet in the future and purchase modern model aircrafts from the largest global aircraft manufacturer which had the advanced expertise and latest technologies. In this context calling for stepping up time-proved partnerships with the Boeing Company, the Turkmen leader emphasized that the essential requirements made by the Turkmen side were the strict compliance of aircrafts with safety standards and comfort for passengers.

Mr. James Albaugh expressed profound gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for giving credence to the company and noted that it sought to actively continue cooperation emphasizing that Boeing was very proud of enhanced business contacts with Turkmenistan known all over the world as a dependable and responsible partner. On behalf of the top management of the Boeing Company he heartily congratulated the leader of the Turkmen state on the upcoming 20th anniversary of independence and expressed the best wishes to the Turkmen people.

Upon concluding the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Mr. James Albaugh expressed belief that traditional cooperation which had great prospects based on the positive experience of long-term collaboration would be furthered successfully.
